George Daugherty

Celebrated conductor George Daugherty is one of the classical music world’s most diverse artists. Over the course of his 30-year career, he has conducted for a long list of the world's most legendary dancers, from Mikhail Baryshnikov, Rudolf Nureyev, Gelsey Kirkland, Suzanne Farrell, Alicia Alonso, and Natalia Makarova, to today's balletic superstars. He has conducted for American Ballet Theatre, The Munich State Opera Ballet, La Scala Ballet, The Royal Ballet, and was Music Director for The Chicago City Ballet, Ballet Chicago, and The Louisville Ballet.

He has guest conducted for virtually all of America's major symphony orchestras, including Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Cleveland Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra at Wolf Trap, San Francisco Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Houston Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Colorado Symphony, St. Louis Symphony, and dozens of others. He has guest conducted all of Canada’s major orchestras, including the Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Edmonton Symphonies, The National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, and The Calgary Philharmonic, as well as such international ensembles as The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Ireland’s RTE Concert Orchestra, Malaysian Philharmonic, New Japan Philharmonic, Melbourne Symphony, Adelaide Symphony, West Australian Symphony Orchestra, and numerous appearances with The Sydney Symphony at The Sydney Opera House. He has conducted over 20 performances at The Hollywood Bowl.

His critically-acclaimed series of "film with live orchestra" concerts, including the 20 year run of "Bugs Bunny On Broadway" and the new "Bugs Bunny At The Symphony," have played to over 2.5 million audience members worldwide. As a producer, director, and writer for television, he has been nominated for five Emmy Awards, and won a Primetime Emmy for his ABC Network production of "Peter and The Wolf." He has conducted for a large and diverse variety of soloists and musical artists, ranging from violinist Cho-Liang Lin, to the late, great rhythm and blues icon Etta James, to Dame Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, to The Harvard Glee Club.
