Ballet San Jose Inaugural Gala
Saturday, November 3, 2012

Please join Ballet San Jose on Saturday, November 3, for an unforgettable evening of electrifying dance and virtuoso music! Our Inaugural Gala will showcase one bravura performance after another by the dancers of Ballet San Jose - featuring sneak previews of works from the upcoming season; a rarely performed, breathtaking male solo, set to Mozart's hauntingly beautiful Lacrimosa; and the triumphant return of last season's critical and audience favorite, Clark Tippet's Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1. Proceeds from the event will help fund live music for Ballet SJ's entire season of productions and benefit its arts education program for local schools, "Music and Motion."

Under the baton of Ballet SJ's new Music Director George Daugherty, Symphony Silicon Valley will make its season debut as resident orchestra. And, to make this very special evening truly extraordinary, Ballet San Jose is thrilled to be joined by internationally acclaimed violinist Rachel Lee as soloist on three different pieces, including the glorious Bruch Violin Concerto; and the renowned soprano Kristin Clayton, a star of both San Francisco Opera and Teatro ZinZanni, leading the Golden Gate Boys Choir Master Singers in Mozart's Lacrimosa.

After the performance, the celebration will continue on the plaza with the dancers and other artists, featuring drinks, desserts, and dancing to live music by The Bill Hopkins Rock'n Orchestra.

Performance tickets range from $45 to $125. Post-performance party tickets are $125 for season subscribers and $175 for non-subscribers. Placing your order is as simple as sending an email to gala@balletsj.org with your ticket request.

You may click the "Order Now" button on this page to download a ticket order form, or contact Erica Dessenberger in the development office at (408) 288-2820 x213. Gala Benefactor tickets to the entire evening, including cocktails, dinner (designed by Chef Peter Armellino of The Plumed Horse), premium performance seating, and post-performance party, are also available for $1,000 each ($800 of which is tax deductible).

We look forward to celebrating the pure joy of the ballet - and the symphony, and the opera! - with you on November 3.
