The Ballet San Jose School Summer Intensive provides high quality, pre-professional ballet training featuring the renowned American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum. As the exclusive ABT Certified Institution on the west coast and as the official school of the Ballet San Jose, this premier summer intensive is a unique training experience for the intermediate and advanced dancer, age 11-20. - The Carreño Male Dancer Training Initiative will provide opportunities for advanced male dancers to train at Ballet San Jose School on Scholarship. Students will be selected by Artistic Director José Manuel Carreño and will have the opportunity to work with Mr. Carreño and the Ballet San Jose Faculty in men’s technique class, partnering class, variations and repertoire.
Summer Intensive classes will be taught by Ballet SJ School's world-class
ABT certified faculty, by Artistic Director José Manuel Carreño, Associate
Director Raymond Rodriguez, members of the professional company, and by
experts in other forms of dance. Students will have the opportunity to
work with notable nationally known Special Guest Faculty including
choreographer Amy Seiwert, turning expert Ikolo Griffin, and other special
guest faculty to be announced. The Summer Intensive features a full day of
classes, providing a core curriculum of classes in ballet technique,
pointe, men's class, and variations, as well as classical and contemporary
ballet repertoire. Additional classes may include partnering, modern,
contemporary, character, strengthening, pilates and floor barre, to help
students develop versatility in their dancing.
Advanced level students who attend the 2014 Summer Intensive will be considered for placement in the Ballet SJ Trainee Program for the 2014 - 2015 Season.

This workshop provides the opportunity for serious young dancers, ages 9 - 11, and 12-year olds at the beginning pointe level, to actively flourish in a professional, yet nurturing environment. The outstanding faculty members of ABT will provide unparalleled instruction while remaining sensitive to the developmental needs of young dancers. Audition at Ballet San Jose on January 19. Ages 3-4: Tuesdays 9:00-10:00, $100 tuition for four classes
Ages 5-6: Wednesdays 4:00-5:00, $100 tuition for four classes
Ages 7-8: Fridays 4:00-5:00, $100 tuition for four classes
Ages 9-11: Mondays and Thursdays 4:00-5:30, $250 for eight classes
